The Status Crow: Weekend fun!

So it's county fair season, and Mommy has been craving a good corn dog for a while...so...we went to two fairs in the last few weeks. The first one was pretty hot, spread out, over priced, and served corn dogs that were not fresh or hot. RIP_OFF! I was not impressed. However, Will did get to ride his first "big boy" ride by himself. He also gave the pony ride another chance this year. (He rode them last year, too.) The livestock show was pretty neat though. They had bunches of animals that Will was excited to see. He recognized them all from his books and was happy to get close to them. We also stopped at an icecream place on the way home that we had not tried before, and it was so good and so cheap. We got 2 large double scoop waffle cones and a kiddie cone for less than $8! What a deal!

Then, last weekend we went to our second fair of the season; Mommy was much more impressed. There was more shade, and the rides were not nearly as expensive or spread out! Even more exciting was the fact that the corn dogs were hot and fresh. YUMMERS! We were also glad that our best buds came with us to this one...mucho fun! Will had a blast riding with his friend, Christopher, and it was great to get some adult time as well!! On our way out there were several tractors set out to look at and climb on, so the boys loved this as well. It would be so fun to take one of those babies for a ride!! VROOM!! We did stop for ice cream again, but this time it was just a quick convience store treat. I was good though and got a skinny cow (low cal) icecream sandwich! It was a good night!

On the 4th, we packed up and headed to "the city," because Will still wasn't 100% from his sickness. Taking him to "Little Kids Church" would not be a good idea! What's funny about this is that it was Jeremy's idea...He hates the city! Anyway...we stopped for coffee on the way in, and I scored a free, large chai tea latte. The lady said it was extra! BONUS! We headed in and saw that the fog was pretty thick...this meant it would be chilly and windy...and it was. That made being at the beach a bit difficult to enjoy. And then....there were dogs! Will is soooooo afraid of them. He thinks they want to "get him." After being there for about an hour, we were all ready to go. We stopped by McD's on the way home for lunch and hurried home for nap time. That night we grilled pork chops and had corn and asparagus for dinner. Apple cake was our dessert. It was a good, relaxing day, for the most part. Monday we went to the mall to have Chick Fil-A and get Will some new shoes. He calls them his "hiking shoes," b/c they are tough, rugged Sketchers. And we also registered at babies r us for some basic essentials for Baby. We were worn out when we got home, but had a good time hanging out together!
