We had such a great time on our trip. Our flights went well with just a little squirming and fussing, and Will did fine, too!! We arrived in Austin and checked into our wonderful room at the OMNI!!! (Thanks Daniel and Caanon!) Then, it was off to the Catfish Parlour for some good Southern eatin'. What a culture shock! We walked in and it just screamed TEXAS!! Wow, we've been away a while. The food was excellent, and it was fun to visit with Jeremy's cousins. That night Will decided he did not want to go to sleep until 1 am. He woke up at 5 am. We were reminded of the first night we had him...not fun! He probably was just scared and not used to sleeping in the same room as us. Wednesday we headed south to Corpus, had lunch with Mom, spoke with our old pastor at Real Life, and spend the evening with our good friends, the Raters. Their son Kyle just turned two. We played trains and had a relaxed dinner. Afterwards, Will took his first steps...on Texas soil!!! We are so proud! Then, it was back to Mathis for the night. Thursday was spent hanging out and visiting. That night we went into Corpus again for dinner at Rudy's BBQ...YUM!!! I haven't eaten that much in a while. We also got pictures done of the the three cousins. Then, it was back to Mathis again! Friday was a fun day, b/c Jeremy got to go to his parents' hunting lease. Will and I went to Kingsville to see some of my former colleagues and friends. That night, we went to a High School football game, and I got to see my former students march. Will loved the band, and so did I. We stayed with friends that night and returned to Mathis the next day. Saturday was the big family picnic. All of the cousins, aunts, and uncles came to see Will and celebrate an early birthday...FUN! Sunday morning we went to church and visited the rest of the day. Monday was a long day of travelling home, but we finally made it. It's good to be HOME!!!
